Knee Braces: Which One Is Right For Me?

Zamst Knee Braces

Whether you are looking for an everyday brace or post injury support, our Zamst range provides you with a number of options to choose from. However, picking the right brace can be difficult when you don’t know what you are looking for, and that is where we are here to help! Knee pain can be difficult to pinpoint and it is important that if you are suffering from any joint pain, that you seek advice from a medical professional. Once you are able to obtain a greater understanding of your pain, picking the right brace becomes easier.

The RecoverFit brace finder gathers information to provide you with a selection of braces that would suit you.

  1. First of all the brace finder will look to understand where in your knee you are experiencing pain. Whether you have torn a ligament, suffer from tendonitis or simply need a brace for prevention purposes.
  2. Depending on what knee injury you have, the brace finder will aim to determine the type of injury you are experiencing. If it is for maintenance purposes you may be asked for levels of activity or sporting use.
  3. Level of support is a key aspect that is very individual to your needs. Ranging through 4 levels from minimum to maximum support you choose how rigid your brace needs to be. For example, if you have suffered from an ACL rupture you are more likely to require a maximum support brace. Then moving into medium if you suffer a strain injury or are doing high levels of activity. Finally, a lighter support brace may suit you if you are looking for more of a taping alternative or an everyday brace to keep you moving.

Our Zamst range encompasses a large range of knee supports, below is a description of each brace available to purchase at RecoverFit.com.

Light support

Filmista Knee- This brace is often used as a taping alternative. It provides you with light compression and protection of the knee. A new-generation support with ultra-thin films with F.S. Technology, this involves the combining of two different polyurethane films providing a high-end fit. Easy to apply and adjust compression with only 2 steps required, strap over the top of the kneecap and the same below.

JK Band- The perfect brace to manage chronic pain caused by Patellar Tendinitis. With a PT pad attached to the inside to compress below the kneecap, this brace reduces strain below the knee.

JK-1- The ideal brace for a number of conditions including; Patella-Femoral Pain Syndrome, Chondromalacia, Osgood-Schlatter Disease and Patellar Tendinitis. Compression with the PT pad reduces the strain below the knee. Compression level can be easily adjusted with the under-strap that is removable with hook and loop fastener. Stretchable fabric allows for a comfortable fit allowing the knee to bend and stretch smoothly. Also the JK-1 has an open panel design so you can apply the product while wearing the shoes.

EK-1- Lightweight and comfortable knee brace which provides light support and compression. This brace can be used for a variety of sports to support the knee without hindering the movement of the player. Thin and lightweight materials are used to provide support around the knee and the EK-1 is a compact size ensuring portability.

Moderate Support

EK- 3With a well-balanced combination of comfort and support, the EK-3 is recommended for those who want both support level and freedom of movement. Materials with variable thinness are optimally placed to provide proper support without getting bulky under clothes. An adjustable hook and loop fastener on the front side provides proper fit aligned with the shape of the knee and thigh and allows the compression level to be adjustable. With specially designed "Active resin stay" that enables the knee to bend and stretch smoothly, it reduces the strain on the knee.

JK-2- A slightly larger brace to reduce pain caused by Patellar Tendinitis. Compression with a unique dual-stage jumper's pad reduces the strain below the knee. Compression level can be easily adjusted with the under-strap and it also has stretchable double raschel knit fabric with breathability and proper compression providing a comfortable fit and support. The JK-2 also has a semi-circular shaped patellar pad and a thigh belt to gently support the kneecap to reduce strain.

EK-5- Recommended for those who want firm support and move frequently. The difference between the EK-3 and the EK-5 is the femoral cross strap. This increases the compression level above the knee. It also responds to any movement and prevents slipping. Similar to the EK-3, it has "Active resin stay" that enables the knee to bend and stretch smoothly reducing the strain on the knee. Adjustable compression using the hook and loop fastener on the front providing proper fit, aligned with the shape of the knee and thigh.

RK-1 Plus- Reduce pain caused by IT Band Syndrome. This brace limits the movement that increases strain on the outside of the knee and provides support to the knee during running. The elastic spiral lace pulls the lower leg up while the inner unique-shaped film keeps the lower knee joint in proper alignment and relieves stress on the outside of the knee. Thin, breathable fabric with a water-repelling surface is used on the back of the knee to keep your knee cool and dry during running. If you want to relieve stress on the right side of your inner knee please choose the RK-1 Plus Left. However, If you want to relieve stress on the left side of your inner knee please choose the RK-1 Plus Right.

Strong Support

ZK-7- A strong support for inhibiting lateral and anterior movement, therefore a suitable support if you have suffered from an ACL, MCL or PCL sprain. The X (cross) strap on the front and bottom of the main body and the parallel strap on the thigh and the back of the knee effectively compresses to accommodate the movement of the muscles of the thigh and lower leg. In addition, there is a semicircular patella pad that gently and precisely compresses the patella and enhances stability of the knee. The uniquely designed resin guard protects excessive lateral and medial movement without limiting range of motion. The ZK-7 also has power double raschel knit fabric that has a combination of breathability and proper compression.

Extra Strong Support

ZK-X-  Hinged knee brace providing extra strong support for knee ligaments to inhibit lateral and anterior movement. The ideal knee brace if you have suffered from a ruptured ligament. A step up from the ZK-7 due to the lightweight metal hinges that are designed to let you bend and stretch smoothly while inhibiting lateral movement of the knee. The X (cross) strap on the front and bottom of the main body and the parallel strap on the thigh and the back of the knee effectively compresses to accommodate the movement of the muscles of the thigh and lower leg. They also suppress the anterior movement of the lower leg. In addition, the ZK-X also has a semicircular patella pad that gently and precisely compress the patella enhancing stability of the knee.
